I have over 16 years’ experience in identifying, assessing and controlling health hazards across a wide range of industries and I have also worked for over 4 years as a Specialist Regulator in both the Health & Safety Executive and the Office of Rail and Road. I am able to provide advice and guidance on a range of hazardous substances including those that can result in respiratory diseases, skin diseases and the more physical aspects that can affect a worker’s health, including noise, vibration, radiation and heat.

Justina joined Pragma in 2024. Her career in Occupational Hygiene began in the steel and shipbuilding industries, following which she has worked in a regulatory environment with the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) and as a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Specialist Inspector, where her responsibilities included advising on COVID 19 risk control in an occupational setting.

Justina’s expert field is the recognition, evaluation and control of occupational ill health risk, including respiratory diseases (lung cancer, COPD, asthma), skin diseases (skin cancer, dermatitis, sensitisation) and physical agents (noise, vibration, ionising radiation, thermal).

Justina applies her practical experience and understanding of the regulatory framework to her role as an expert witness, helping legal professionals and the courts to understand the circumstances and good practice standards relevant to occupational health risks.

Justina holds a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science and Environmental Geography in which she specialised in occupational hygiene and the BOHS Certificate of Operational Competency in Occupational Hygiene, as well as a NEBOSH Regulators Legal certificate.

Justina has also been a Licentiate Member of the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) since 2009 and is actively involved as an elected member of the BOHS Faculty Committee, leading a strategic working group supporting BOHS strategy.
