In many cases our conversation will begin because you have a problem to resolve.  Someone may have become ill or been injured or even killed at work.  You may be facing prosecution from the HSE or your Local Authority.  You may need to demonstrate your approach to health and safety management to reassure stakeholders or to win a tender.  Or it may simply be that you have your own concerns about your premises or the safety of your employees.

Whatever has brought health and safety management to the top of your ‘to do’ list, we would be happy to have a ‘no obligation’ conversation to see how we may be able to help.  We find that very often, the first step is to produce a Health and Safety Improvement Plan (HASIP) for you, so you can:

  1. Understand where you are now and identify what you do well as well as what may need to be improved
  2. Identify the significant risks that affect your business
  3. Know how to manage and control those risks effectively
  4. Understand where you want to be
  5. Have a clear, realistic and manageable plan to get from where you are to where you want to be

We offer a comprehensive range of bespoke consultancy services that you can combine in the way that provides you with exactly the solution you need.  We will then be on hand to do everything we can to make implementing and adopting your solution as quick and easy as possible.

You are required by law to appoint a ‘competent person’ to make sure you remain compliant with health and safety legislation.  This competence could be provided by an ‘in-house’ employee, or where this is not available, you can use one of our consultants.  We would allocate you an individual experienced and Chartered consultant.  Consequently, you can be confident your health and safety is being managed by an expert while you can concentrate on driving your business forward.

Designing your Health and Safety Improvement Plan (HASIP)

This process is likely to involve:

  • Visits to your premises to conduct inspections and initial risk assessments
  • Using the insight from those visits to develop your health and safety policy
  • Designing a realistic, prioritised action plan to drive positive cultural change
  • Developing your own specific risk assessments and the in-house capability to deliver them
  • Producing bespoke supporting documents such as an Employee Health & Safety Handbook
  • Providing the supporting information, processes and training to create stakeholder ‘buy-in’

Gap Analysis

We can conduct a high-level review and Gap Analysis of your organisation.  This would involve an assessment of your head office and representative sites to measure your safety management against the OHSAS Standard 18001/45001.  We will present the findings using a RAG colour key so it can form the basis for a longer-term plan.  The Gap Analysis will provide a prioritised Action Plan, identifying recommendations for improvement, along with suggested realistic recommendations to resolve these actions.

Health & Safety Road Maps

Once we have completed the Gap Analysis we can turn this into a Road Map to support your ongoing development and improvement with formal reviews at key points to measure progress.

General Risk Assessments

We can conduct a General Risk Assessment that reviews your current health and safety arrangements in line with the requirements of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.  The results from the General Risk Assessment will allow us to create a prioritised Action Plan, addressing all aspects of your operations from high-level health and safety management systems through to specific facilities management issues.

Health and Safety Audits

We can also provide you with a comprehensive audit of your safety management systems based on HSE guidance documents HSG65 and OHSAS 18001/45001.  This audit could also be developed to meet the requirements of any external governing body audits.  We can then present the findings as a prioritised action plan.

Fire Risk Assessments

We can assist your ‘Responsible Person’ in complying with the relevant statutory provisions of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 by completing a Fire Risk Assessment, to assess your current levels or risk, reviewing your current procedures and identifying areas for improvement.

Health & Safety Checklists

Our consultant will combine inspection, interview and document review while they work through our proprietary checklist to cover the same topics as we would cover in the General Risk Assessment.

Board Level Reporting

We can attend Board Meetings to provide a strategic review of your current levels of compliance and, if required, offer a health and safety perspective on certain issues
